And So Are You … A Poem

Human. Female. Daughter. Cousin. Sister. Friend. Student. Feminine. Co-worker. Feminist. Liberal. Democrat. Wife. Mother. Publisher. Writer.

I am who I am before I am anything else.

I am a divine spark of All That Is. I am an energetic strand of the universal flow of consciousness.

I am a drop of water, a grain of sand, a blade of grass, a root of a tree, the trunk, a leaf.

I am the air I breathe in, and the nutrients I exhale.

I am the view from a mountain top, a cloud drifting by.

I am a star. I am the color that fills the sky.

I am my dreams. I am my thoughts. I am what I speak. I am my actions.

I am the space between words. And the paper they are printed on.

I am one with everything and everyone. I am all of nothing and no one.

I am the darkness.

I am the light.

I am.

I am who I am before I am anything else.

And so are you.
