Catch a glimpse of Riveting Journey making our reservations for Jasper National Park on opening reservations day, March 16, 2023.
A week or two in advance, we created an account at the Canadian National Parks website. On March 16, at 9:40am Eastern time, we went to the website. Reservations for Jasper opened at 10:00am. We were number 8,643 in line when it “opened.” We waited about 20 minutes before we were able to make a reservation. In the middle of our first attempt, we realized that we were NOT logged into our account, so we logged in and went through the steps AGAIN to make a reservation at Jasper. We had SUCCESS and were able to get the dates we wanted (end of May 2023) at Whistlers Campground.
Side Note: Reservations for Banff National Park opened on March 23, 2023 at 10:00am Eastern. We logged in to our account one hour in advance, but nothing started to “happen” until 9:30am, when we were “queued” up. At 10:00am, when it went LIVE, we were number 37,416 in line with over an hour wait. The actual wait time was 50 minutes, and we had success in getting our reservations for the dates we wanted in May 2023.
FYI: “Serviced” sites usually mean full hook-ups. “Unserviced” means no hookups. Then we had a choice of whether we wanted a fire pit or not. But to find the type of site you want, you will need to click around a bit.
We are learning how to make more compelling videos, so this might not be the level of quality you’d like. Thank you for your patience.
