We are already a quarter of the way through 2025, having spent the first few months in Florida. But with our youngest daughter now living and working in Fort Collins, Colorado, and with a deep yearning to be out west, we have decided to head in that direction.
Believe it or not, we are being a bit more spontaneous than usual with our travel plans. Some stops are firmly in place, while others are still in the air. Luckily, and because we enjoy it, we are set up to boondock – not needing RV parks or electrical or sewer hookups.
Our first (planned) stop will be visiting some of our full-time RVer friends in Tennessee. We then plan (not-so-planned) to travel through a couple of “middle” states to add to our map, such as Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas, before making our way into Colorado.
After a much-needed visit with our daughter (planned yet not-so-planned) – I need to spend some time with my girl – we will make our way into Wyoming. We have some reservations at Yellowstone National Park—the world’s FIRST national park—in June (obviously planned), and my brother and his family will also be there.
From there, the rest of 2025 is not really planned, except for a trip to Cancun in November for our daughter’s wedding. The “rough outline” is to make our way to Davenport, Washington, to visit family and pick up the inflatable kayak that we left in storage at our niece’s house. If time allows, we might make our way to the coast of Washington for a couple of weeks. Then, we will travel east to North Dakota or Minnesota for Carl’s work camping farm job, driving a truck during harvest. At the end of October, we will go to North Carolina. Once we return from Cancun, we will start making our way west again.
The beauty of pulling our home behind our truck is that our plans can change. And they often do. So, 2025 might hold more surprises for us, and we won’t know until confronted with them. Let’s hope whatever surprises are around the corner are good, fun ones!
Enjoy your journey, and keep it riveting!
So glad to see you still riveting along. Blessings for your adventures!
Love finally getting an update from you two. Sorry we didn’t connect when you all were in FL. Your observations on the traffic, etc. is spot on. We still love our little house in Venice for the winter. We return to NC this week in time for Merlefest. Thanks for the news.
Thanks, Mike! We actually thought about contacting you, but just never had a good chunk of time. We hope you’ve enjoyed your time in Florida this year. Don’t rush back to NC… It has been chilly here! We leave on April 24 to head west. Stay well!
